The story of mylife Diabetes Care began in 1984 in Burgdorf, Switzerland, with the founding of Disetronic by Willy and Peter Michel. Just one year later, the company launched one of the world’s first microprocessor-controlled insulin pumps – laying the foundation for a legacy of pioneering insulin therapy.

Founding of Disetronic

Willy and Peter Michel establish Disetronic in Burgdorf, Switzerland, with the vision of developing the world's smallest insulin pump.

1986

First microprocessor-controlled insulin pump

Launch of one of the world’s first microprocessor-controlled insulin pumps, setting new standards in precision and therapy reliability.

2003

Roche acquires Disetronic

Exclusive distributor of mylife OmniPod

Introduction of the smartphone-based adaptive automated insulin delivery (AID) system – combining YpsoPump, CamAPS FX and leading CGMs in a major step for advanced diabetes management.
